Before booking your charter, please examine this policy thoroughly. By confirming a charter with Ocean's Echelon Yacht Club, you are consenting to these refund conditions.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Qualifies for: Entire refund excluding service charges
Refund Processing: Within 5-7 business days
Service Charge: €50 for card payments
Requirements: Formal request needed through email or call
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible amount: Half of the full charter cost
Refund Period: Between 7-10 business days
Deduction: €25 taken from the refund
Policies: Justified rationale necessary; includes administrative fees
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Refundability: Non-refundable
Exceptions: Consideration given in cases of emergencies
Alternate Solution: Credit option possible at management's discretion
Requirement: Verification needed for emergency claims
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Commitment to Safety
Our priority is your safety. If the captain, certified by us, finds the weather conditions to be unsafe for sailing, we provide adaptable alternatives:
- Complete Refund: Offered if rebooking is not an option
- Rescheduling: You can change the date of your sail to another available day at no extra cost
- Sailing Credit: Credit available for one year from the original sail date
Procedure for Assessing Weather
We include the following in our weather assessments:
- Evaluating wind speed and direction
- Assessing sea conditions and wave height
- Anticipating visibility and rain conditions
- Heeding maritime advisories and warnings
- The captain's expert safety judgment
Timing for Decisions: Cancellation decisions due to weather are finalized at least 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Special Considerations for Emergencies
Recognizing that medical emergencies can arise, the following situations may be subjected to special review:
- Unanticipated illness or injury necessitating hospitalization
- Death within the immediate family
- Urgent military deployment or summons
- Jury service or court mandates
- Disasters impacting travel
Documentation for Emergency Situations
Documentation required for evaluating emergency refunds include:
- Medical certificate or hospital records
- Death notification, if relevant
- Military orders
- Legal summons or jury notice
- Travel alerts or state of emergency proclamations
Refund Speed: Emergency refund requests with all necessary evidence are handled within 3-5 business days.
Cancellations Due to Operational Reasons
Vessel Malfunctions
In the event that the designated yacht encounters mechanical issues which we can't fix:
- Substitute Yacht: An effort will be made to arrange a similar yacht
- Full Refund: Offered if no comparable yacht is available
- Partial Refund: Granted if rates for the substitute yacht differ
- Additional Reparation: Other forms of compensation might be provided for the inconvenience
Unavailability of Crew Members
On the exceptional occasion that a certified crew member is not available:
- An attempt will be made to find a replacement crew
- A complete refund will be given if the charter cannot proceed
- The possibility to reschedule with no additional fees

Reimbursements are executed utilizing the same method that was used for the initial booking:
- Credit Cards: Process takes 5-7 business days
- Direct Bank Transfers: Usually settled within 7-10 business days
- Cash or Cheque: Typically 3-5 business days for processing

A fee of €50 for cancellations requested with more than 72 hours notice
Refunds via Bank Transfer
A fixed €25 fee applies to all reimbursements made through bank transfers
Handling Fees for Overseas Transactions
Additional charges may be applied for transactions made outside of the country
Conditions for Charter Credits
Scenarios for Credit Issuance
In certain cases, instead of a refund, a credit for chartering our services may be issued:
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior
- Cancellations due to weather conditions
- Requests to voluntarily change the charter date
- Disruptions in operation
Guidelines for Credit
- Validity Duration: Credit is good for 12 months from the issue date
- Transfer Limitation: Credits cannot be transferred to others
- Credit Value: Amounts to the full charter value excluding processing fees
- Usage Policy: Applicable to any available charter service
- Expiration: No extension past the 12-month period
Reimbursements for Partial Services
Interruptions During the Service
If your yacht charter is interrupted or cut short because of reasons within our control:
- Refund proportional to the unutilized portion
- Credit equivalent for a future yacht charter
- Consideration for complimentary services or upgrades
Guest-Related Disruptions
If the yacht charter ends prematurely due to guest behavior or safety infractions:
- Forfeiture of refund for the remaining duration
- Full charge remains applicable
- Potential for additional fees
Process for Resolving Disputes
If there's a difference in opinion regarding a refund determination, you may:
- Ask for our management to re-evaluate
- Submit further evidence or documentation
- Look for a resolution through consumer protection organizations
- Engage in legal courses as allowed by the law

Step 3: Confirmation and Procedure
We will send confirmation of your request receipt within a day, scrutinize it per the stated policy, render a decision in two days, and carry out approved refunds as per the given timeframes.
Essential Remarks
- All requests for a refund must be made in written form
- Refunds are given in €, regardless of the currency used for payment
- Acquiring travel insurance is highly advised
- Policy changes are disclosed with 30-days' notice
- Refunds are inclusive of applicable taxes and regulations
